How to Cure an Inflamed Liver

To cure an inflamed liver, you must first have a liver function test. This test is conducted to determine the extent of damage to the liver.

Have a liver biopsy. Under local anesthesia, a slender needle is inserted through the lower part of the right chest, and a small piece of the liver is removed. Then it is professionaly examined under a microscope.

Determine the diagnosis. If the liver is inflamed due to excessive alcohol intake, then a corticosteroid is usually recommended. If the disease is at an advanced stage, the treatment is performed in the hospital. In some cases, a liver transplant is needed.

If in its early stages, your doctor will place you on a special diet, so that vitamin B is replaced in the body.

The liver can also become inflamed due to yellow fever. This type of inflammation can be treated with bed rest, hospitalization, salt and fluid replacement. A blood transfusion is performed in cases of severe bleeding.

If Oesophagostomiasis is the cause of the inflamed liver, treat with albendazole and levamesole. In some cases, surgery needs to be performed to remove the nodules in your intestinal tract, which contain the parasites that are causing your liver to be inflamed.

If you have been diagnosed with Porphyria Cutanea Tarda, treat it with antimalarial tablets, limit your exposure to the sun and avoid alcohol at all times.

Treat it with supportive and symptomatic therapy. Chaparral (herbal agent adverse reaction) can cause liver inflammation, and when the treatment doesn't work, sometimes a liver transplant is needed.

An allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplant may be needed, if you have been diagnosed with Lymphoproliferative syndrome. The stem cell transplant should be done at the earliest stage possible.
