How to Make Your Own Journal Book

How to Make Your Own Journal Book

A journal is a very personal item in which you record your hopes, dreams and fears. Go a step further and make even the outside of your journal your very own. The stores are full of beautiful blank books that you can use, but you also can create your own personalized journal.

Instructions

    1

Buy a 3-ring binder or a marbled composition notebook. If you use a 3-ring binder, you can add or remove pages as needed. It also allows flexibility to insert photo pages and memorabilia in sheet protectors.

    2

Personalize the journal by decorating the cover. You can go wild here and decorate the cover to reflect your hopes and ideas for the year to come.

    3

Paste a list of journal topics in the front of the book for those days when you are stuck for something to write about. You can find journal topics all over the place. Look for writing prompts that will help stretch your thoughts, understanding, beliefs and writing talents.

    4

Separate your journal into sections by using dividers or colored tabs. Label these tabs with suitable headings, such as "dreams," "memories," "lists" or "poems."

    5

Protect your journal by laminating the cover with a self-adhesive lamination kit. You can buy these at most office supply or drug stores.
