How to Treat Osteoarthritis Pain through Diet

A simple way to treat Osteoarthritis pain is through diet. Osteoarthritis is one of the more commong forms of arthritis, and is commonly known for it's pain. There are actually several ways to alter your lifestyle and diet not only help relieve pain caused by osteoarthritis, but also to help prevent osteoarthritis pain in the future.

    Be cautious with anything containing caffeine. And not just the basics like coffee and soda, also be cautious with products like chocolate. Try to keep anything with caffeine as a special occasion only treat.

    Be careful with over the counter drugs. Some over the counter drugs can actually increase osteoarthritis pain. Before taking anything, speak to your doctor or a pharmacist.

    Cut back on the dairy. A diet high in dairy can lead to an increase in pain. Try to limit your dairy for a week to see if it makes a difference, then adjust accordingly.

    Cut back on citrus fruits. Citrus fruits can lead to more pain, try to limit your intake of citrus fruits long enough to see if it makes a difference.

    Limit the wheat in your diet, be especially careful with white flour.
