How to Use Pomegranate for Weight Loss

Anyone that has ever tried to lose weight knows that it is an uphill battle. Incorporating the fruit pomegranate into your diet will make that battle a little less difficult. In addition to exercising and eating a clean diet, adding pomegranate to your diet will surely help you lose the pounds easier as it is brimming with CLA, antioxidants and polyphenols, all of which help you burn fat and boost your metabolism.

Instructions

Using Pomegranates For Weight Loss

    1

Clean up your diet by removing all processed and fast foods. Begin eating small meals every three to four hours. The meals should consist of fresh vegetables or fruits, lean protein and whole grains.
Breakfast - three-egg white omelet with 1/2 cup vegetables, 1/2 cup of fruit, green tea
Snack - 10 baby carrots, 10 celery sticks, 1/2 cup hummus
Lunch - Turkey breast sandwich with spinach and tomato on whole grain bread, small spinach salad
Snack - 1/2 cup low fat tuna salad with six high-fiber crackers
Dinner - 4 ounces of grilled salmon, 1/2 cup whole grain rice, 2 cups cooked veggies
Snack - two egg whites with a dash of sea salt

    2

Pick an exercise routine that has you active for a minimum of four days and a maximum of six days each week. The program should include cardiovascular training, resistance training and flexibility training. Training sessions should be at least 30 minutes but should not exceed 90 minutes.

    3

Add two pomegranates to your diet each day. Eat all the seeds of the fruit. Eat one first thing in the morning with breakfast. Then eat the second pomegranate in the afternoon with your second snack. Do not substitute juice as it has an enormous amount of sugar. Sugar halts your body's fat-burning process. Pomegranates are sure to help you lose fat for a few reasons. First they contain extremely high amounts of CLA or conjugated linoleic acid. Several studies have confirmed that CLA helps to reduce body fat while increasing lean muscle mass. A study done by the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry also confirms that the high polyphenol and antioxidant contained in pomegranates helps to increase metabolism, therefore assisting you in dropping those unwanted pounds.
